Welcome to Escape Time Burton. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and the booking of our escape room experiences. By making a booking, purchasing a gift voucher, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Please read these terms carefully before completing any booking or purchase. If you have any questions, please contact us before making your reservation.

1 Booking and Reservations

Making a Booking

All bookings must be made through our official booking system, either online via our website or at our venue. When you make a booking, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Ensure all participants meet the age and height requirements for the chosen experience
  • Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled booking time
  • Pay any applicable deposits or full payment as required

Group Size and Capacity

Each escape room has a minimum of 2 players and a maximum of (typically) 6 players. Group size limits are strictly enforced to ensure safety and quality of experience. If your group exceeds the room capacity, you may be required to split into multiple bookings subject to availability. Different group sizes may alter the gameplay experience, and we reserve the right to adjust room difficulty settings accordingly.

2 Payments and Pricing

All prices are displayed in GBP (£) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time, but any price changes will not affect confirmed bookings already paid in full.

  • Payment Methods: We accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as other payment methods made available through our booking system
  • Deposits: Some bookings may require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due on arrival
  • Group Bookings: For groups, a deposit may be required to secure the booking, with the remaining balance payable as agreed
  • Receipts: A confirmation and receipt will be sent to the email address provided at the time of booking

3 Cancellations and Refunds

We do not offer refunds for any reason. However, we are happy to reschedule your booking under the following terms:

  • More than 7 Days Notice: Rescheduling is free of charge
  • Within 48 Hours: A rescheduling fee of £15 applies
  • Within 24 Hours: A rescheduling fee of £25 applies

No refunds will be issued under any circumstances. All bookings are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled subject to the fees outlined above.

4 Safety and Participation Requirements

The safety of our guests is our top priority. By participating in our experiences, you agree to comply with all safety instructions provided by our team.

  • Age Requirements: Participants must meet the minimum age requirement for each specific experience. These requirements are clearly displayed on the relevant experience pages and at our venue. Under-18s must have a parent or guardian stay in the building at all times
  • Physical Safety: Participants should follow all safety instructions given by our staff at all times. Some experiences may involve physical activity
  • Medical Conditions: Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or accessibility requirements before your visit so we can make appropriate accommodations
  • Intoxication: We reserve the right to refuse entry to any guest who appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, without refund
  • Claustrophobia: If any participant is claustrophobic, please discuss this with our team before booking. All rooms have emergency exits and panic buttons for your safety

5 Rules of Play

To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all guests, please adhere to the following rules while playing:

  • No Phone Use: Mobile phones and cameras are not permitted inside the rooms unless authorised. This preserves the experience for future players
  • No Force: Please do not use excessive force on any props, locks, or fixtures. If something is not opening, you may be missing a clue
  • No Disclosing: Please do not reveal puzzle solutions or room details to others who have not yet played. This ruins the experience for everyone
  • Follow Staff Guidance: Always follow the instructions of your games master. They are there to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience
  • No Food or Drink: Food and drinks are not permitted inside the escape rooms to protect the equipment and props

6 Gift Vouchers

  • Validity: Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated
  • Redemption: Vouchers can be redeemed against any of our experiences, subject to availability, and should be presented at the time of booking
  • Non-Refundable: Gift vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, unless required by law
  • Loss or Theft: We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged vouchers. Please treat your voucher like cash
  • Extensions: Voucher extensions may be granted at our discretion in exceptional circumstances

7 Corporate and Group Bookings

Corporate bookings and private group events may be subject to additional terms and conditions, which will be provided at the time of booking. These may include:

  • Deposits: Corporate bookings may require a non-refundable deposit to secure the date and time
  • Cancellation: Different cancellation terms may apply for corporate events and will be confirmed at the time of booking
  • Final Numbers: Final participant numbers must be confirmed at least 48 hours before the event
  • Invoicing: Corporate accounts may be eligible for invoicing arrangements subject to credit approval

8 Limitation of Liability

Escape Time Burton operates our experiences in accordance with all applicable health and safety regulations. While we take every reasonable precaution, participation in our experiences is undertaken at the participants' own risk.

  • We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from a failure to follow staff instructions or safety guidance
  • We are not liable for damage to personal belongings brought into our venue. Please leave valuables secure
  • Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable law
  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking in exceptional circumstances (e.g., staff illness, maintenance issues, or events beyond our control). In such cases, you will be offered a full refund or an alternative date

9 Intellectual Property

All content on our website and within our experiences, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and puzzle designs, is the intellectual property of Escape Time Burton and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content or puzzle designs for commercial purposes without our prior written consent
  • Photography and filming within our rooms is not permitted without prior authorisation

10 Use of Website

  • By using our website, you agree not to misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with its operation in any way
  • All information provided on our website is for general information purposes and is subject to change without notice
  • Availability of experiences, times, and prices may vary and are confirmed at the time of booking

11 Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon being published on this page. We encourage you to review these terms periodically to stay informed of any updates. Continued use of our website or services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
